## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON DECEMBER 30, 2007, AT APPROXIMATELY 11:25 AM LOCAL TIME, WITNESS OBSERVED CIRRUS SR22, N254SR, MAKE A LOW PASS OF 75 TO 100 FEET OVER THE RESIDENCE OF ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^. WITNESS STATED AFTER THE LOW PASS THE AIRCRAFT PITCHED UP TO THE VERTICAL AND ROLLED INTO A STEEP BANK TURN, TO THE RIGHT. AT THIS POINT THE AIRCRAFT NOSE WAS OBSERVED TO PITCH DOWN AND THE SOUNDS OF THE ENGINE SUDDENLY INCREASE, AS THE AIRCRAFT DISAPPEARED BELOW THE TREE TOPS. MOMENTS LATER BLACK SMOKE WAS OBSERVED RISING FROM THE SAME DIRECTION. EXAMINATION OF THE DEBRIS FIELD INDICATE THE AIRCRAFT MADE CONTACT IN A FLAT ATTITUDE SLIDING FORWARD APPROXIMATELY 300 YARDS, COMING TO A STOP AFTER STRIKING A TREE WITH THE LEFT WING, CAUSING THE FUEL TANK TO RUPTURE. THE AIRCRAFT ENGINE AND PILOT'S BODY WERE FOUND APPROXIMATELY 100 TO 150 YARDS PAST THE AIRCRAFT STOPPING POINT.
