## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE STUDENT PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ DEPARTED ORMOND BEACH AIRPORT ON A SOLO X-COUNTRY TO ST. AUGUSTINE (KSGJ) AIRPORT, FL. DURING THE LANDING PHASE THE AIRCRAFT FLOATED OVER THE RUNWAY FOR A LONGER THAN USUAL DISTANCE. THE AIRPLANE BALLOONED UP AND THEN LANDED VERY HARD ON THE NOSE GEAR. DUE TO THE IMPACT THE NOSE GEAR FORK AND TIRE DEPARTED THE AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT ROLLED TO A STOP WHILE RESTING ON THE NOSE GEAR STRUT. THE PILOT EXITED THE AIRCRAFT. THE STUDENT PILOT DID NOT SUFFER ANY INJURIES AS A RESULT OF THE INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
