## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) A LINE SERVICE EMPLOYEE OF ATLANTIC AVIATION WAS STRUCK BY THE PROPELLER AFTER THE AIRCRAFT WAS STOPPED. THE PILOT SAID THE LINE SERVICE PERSON MARSHALLED HIM INTO THE PARKING SPOT. THE PILOT SAID THE LINE SERVICE PERSON WAS CLEAR OF THE AIRCRAFT AND SO HE STARTED HIS CHECKLIST TO SHUT THE ENGINE DOWN. THEN HE HEARD A THUD AND THE ENGINE STARTED TO VIBRATE. THEN HE SAW THE LINE SERVICE MAN BEING THROWN AWAY FROM THE AIRCRAFT TOWARD THE LEFT WING. THERE WERE SEVEN PASSENGERS AND THE PILOT ABOARD THE AIRCRAFT. NO PASSENGER WAS IN THE CO-PILOT SEAT. ONE OF THE PASSENGERS WAS A MEDICAL DOCTOR WHO STOPPED THE BLEEDING AND ATTENDED TO THE INJURED LINE SERVICE PERSON UNTIL THE AMBULANCE TOOK HIM TO THE HOSPITAL. THE LINE SERVICE PERSON EXPIRED AT 11:15 CST WHILE BEING TREATED IN THE OU MEDICAL CENTER ICU.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DFW08LA055](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DFW08LA055), Jan 3, 2008: Pilatus PC-12/45 (N398J), Oklahoma City, OK, no damage, 1 fatal. Probable cause: The line technician's failure to remain clear of the propeller. A factor was the night lighting conditions.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
