## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON APPROACH TO MFR, THE PILOT GOT A FIRE INDICATION ON THE RIGHT ENGINE. ALL ENGINE PARAMETERS REMAINED NORMAL, HOWEVER THE PILOT CONDUCTED AN IN-FLIGHT SHUT DOWN AND FIRED OFF THE ENGINE BOTTLE. THE MFR GROUND EMERGENCY CREWS WERE ROLLED. MX SUBCONTRACTOR (MEDFORD JET CENTER) INSPECTED ENGINE AND FOUND NO EVIDENCE OF FIRE. HOWEVER IT WAS NOTED THAT THE FIRE ANNUNCIATOR REMAINED LIT. TROUBLESHOT FIRE INDICATION SYSTEM AND FOUND TOP DETECTOR BAD, CAUSING FALSE WARNING REPEATEDLY ON GROUND. AMERIFLIGHT PDX MX TO REPLACE FIRE DETECTOR IN MFR, MEL ENGINE FIRE BOTTLE AND BRING AIRPLANE BACK TO PDX.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
