## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AFTER TAKEOFF PILOT STATED THAT THE GEAR IN TRANSIT LIGHT REMAINED ON CONTINUALLY AND THAT HE SMELLED A "HOT GEAR MOTOR" AND PULLED THE GEAR CIRCUIT BREAKER. PILOT THEN COMPLETED CHECKLIST FOR GEAR FAILURE AND PILOT AND PASSENGER WERE BOTH UNABLE TO MOVE THE MANUAL GEAR CRANK. THE PILOT DECLARED AN EMERGENCY WITH FORT WORTH MEACHAM TOWER AND EXECUTED A "GEAR UP LANDING." ON SCENE INVESTIGATION VERIFIED THAT THE GEAR COULD NOT BE MANUALLY EXTENDED AND A POST FLIGHT INSPECTION OF THE GEAR SYSTEM REVEALED THAT THE GEAR MOTOR WAS JAMMED PREVENTING EXTENSION OF THE GEAR.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
