## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) TALKED WITH AALA'S MAINTENANCE CONTROL CENTER, MANAGER ON DUTY, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ EXPLAINED THAT THE AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED A FLAP OVERSPEED OF 40 KTS ON APPROACH INTO EGE. SINCE THE FLAP OVERSPEED INSPECTION IS QUITE EXTENSIVE, THE AIRCRAFT WILL BE MAINTENANCE FERRIED TO TUL, WHERE THE INSPECTION WILL BE ACCOMPLISHED. I CALLED EGE OPS ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, WHO READ THE MAINTENANCE LOG ENTRY TO ME. THE CAPTAIN'S ENTRY STATED HE WAS ON APPROACH AT 220 KTS, FLAPS SET TO 1. THE AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED MODERATE TO SEVERE TURBULENCE. THE CAPTAIN OBSERVED AIRPSPEED SPIKE TO 260 KTS FOR 5-7 SECONDS THEN DECREASE. PEAK SPEED NOT OBSERVED. (-23 AMENDMENT) AALA'S MAINTENANCE CONTROL HAS SCHEDULED A DOWN LOAD OF THE DIGITAL FLIGHT DATA RECORDER, PLUS A TURBULENT INSPECTION TO BE ACCOMPLISHED AT EGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
