THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ TOOK OFF AND DID ONE STALL OUTSIDE OF THE AIRPORT TRAFFIC AREA. HE RETURNED AND CONDUCTED TWO TO THREE LANDINGS WITH ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ TALKING HIM THROUGH THE LANDINGS. ON THE LAST LANDING ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS HEARD ON THE COMMON FREQ YELLING "RIGHT RUDDER." THE AIRCRAFT HIT HARD ON ONE LANDING GEAR THEN WENT OFF THE RUNWAY AND CAME TO REST UPSIDE DOWN ON THE NORTHWEST SIDE OF THE RUNWAY AND CAUGHT FIRE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX08CA048](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX08CA048), Jan 19, 2008: Waltermire Glastar (N248DW), Vacaville, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control during landing and a lack of experience in conventional gear airplanes.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
