## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 01/25/2008 22.50Z TIME A PIPER PA30 N8914Y WAS IN THE PROCESS OF DOING TOUCH AND GO'S IN THE PATTERN AT THE BLACKSBURG AIRPORT (BCB) RWY 12/30. DURING THE 2ND TOUCH AND GO, THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED CAUSING MINIMAL DAMAGE TO AIRCRAFT ENGINE AND PROPELLER. AIRCRAFT WAS REMOVED FROM RWY. INVESTIGATION FOUND THAT THE LEFT LANDING GEAR HOUSING PN 20752-08 HAD CRACKED CAUSING THE GEAR TO COLLAPSE. CRACK WAS A RESULT OF METAL FATIGUE IN THE WEBBING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
