## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT STATED THAT AS HE TAXIED TO RUNWAY ACROSS THE "REOPENED TAXIWAY", HIS NOSE WHEEL WENT INTO THE GRAVEL AND HIS PROPELLER HIT THE GRAVEL AND WAS DAMAGED. HE STATED THAT THE "AIRPORT MANAGER" TOLD HIM THAT THE TAXIWAY WAS JUST REOPENED EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS A NOTAM STATING THE TAXIWAY WAS CLOSED AND THAT THERE WERE CONES ON THE TAXIWAY. THE PILOT ALSO STATED THAT THERE WAS STANDING WATER ON THE GRASS TRANSIENT PARKING AREA ADJACENT TO THE RUNWAY. THE AIRPORT MANAGER WAS INTERVIEWED AND STATED THAT HE DID NOT SPEAK TO THE PILOT AT ALL AND THAT THE CONES AND NOTAM ARE IN PLACE AS THE TAXIWAY IS STILL UNDER REPAIR. THE CONES WERE IN PLACE DURING MY SCENE INVESTIGATION. I ALSO BELIEVE THAT THE PILOT MAY HAVE SPOKEN TO OTHER PERSONNEL ON THE AIRPORT THINKING THAT ONE OF THEM WAS THE AIRPORT MANAGER.

## Other reports on N666KH (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19890902033539A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19890902033539A), Sep 2, 1989: Piper PA24260 (N666KH), Hanceville, AL, Substantial damage. Landed hard on short strip. Bounced, tried to go around, unable to clear rising terrain. Had just purchased aircraft.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
