## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) N535R WAS BEING FERRIED TO FT LAUDERDALE EXECUTIVE AIRPORT IN A GEAR DOWN CONFIGURATION TO ACCOMPLISH REPAIRS DUE TO A PREVIOUS GEAR UP LANDING CONDITION. UPON LANDING AT FT LAUDERDALE EXECUTIVE AIRPORT THE PILOT HEARD A LOUD BANG FROM UNDER THE SEAT AND THEN THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED. AN INSPECTION BY PREMIER AIRCRAFT SERVICES REVEALED THAT THE BUNGEE-ASSIST UNIT WAS BENT AND CAUSED THE EARS OF THE LANDING GEAR JACKSHAFT TO TEAR OFF. THIS CAUSED OTHER DAMAGE TO THE NOSE GEAR RETRACT RODS AND ALLOWED THEM TO FAIL, PULLING THE GEAR FROM OVER-CENTER. THE PROPELLER WAS ALSO DAMAGED. PER ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ THE DIRECTOR OF MAINTENANCE AT PREMIER AIRCRAFT SERVICES, THE ENGINE WAS SENT OUT TO A NDT SHOP. THE PROPELLER IS BEING REPLACED AND REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE ON ORDER FOR THE NOSE GEAR AS WELL AS BELLY PANELS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
