## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON FEBRUARY 07, 2008 WHILE ENROUTE FROM F45 (NORTH COUNTY AIRPORT) TO PMP (POMPANO AIRPORT), THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ OF N369SR A ROBINSON R22 MARINER, S/N 1017M, HEARD A CYCLIC WHISTLING NOISE. THIS WHISTLING NOISE WAS CORRESPONDING WITH THE MAIN ROTOR ROTATION. THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ FOUND A CLEAR SPOT ON THE BEACH IN WEST PALM BEACH AND PERFORMED A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING. THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ VISUALLY INSPECTED THE HELICOPTER TO FIND THAT A "DO NOT PULL" DECAL TYPE PLACARD HAD BECOME PARTIALLY DETACHED FROM A MAIN ROTOR BLADE. THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ RESECURED THE PLACARD AND AFTER ENSURING THAT THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE AMISS STARTED THE ENGINE AND PERFORMED A HOVER CHECK. CONVINCED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE HELICOPTER THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ CONTINUED TO HIS DESTINATION WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE RETURN FLIGHT TO F45 WENT UNEVENTFUL. THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ HAS SINCE HAD THE PLACARD REPLACED. THE AIRCRAFT HAD A CURRENT ANNUAL AND 100 HOURS INSPECTION, NO OTHER DISCREPANCIES HAVE BEEN NOTED. THIS INVESTIGATION WAS PERFORMED AS A DESK AUDIT AND IS CONSIDERED CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
