## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE AIRCRAFT WAS BEING FERRIED TO (ORD) FOR REPAIRS TO THE STAB TRIM SYSTEM. THE NOSE WHEEL STEERING SYSTEM WAS DEFERRED PER THE MEL. THEREFORE, TO TURN THE AIRCRAFT ONTO THE RUNWAY, A TUG WAS NEEDED TO MAKE THE 180 DEGREE TURN, TO GET THE AIRCRAFT TO THE CORRECT RUNWAY HEADING. THIS CAUSED THE TOW VEHICLE TO "JACK KNIFE" ALLOWING THE TUG TO SLIDE UNDER THE AIRCRAFT BELLY. A GALLEY DRAIN MAST WAS DAMAGED AND MINOR SCRAPES AND SCRATCHES WERE NOTED ON THE BELLY SKIN.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
