## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON FEBRUARY 16, 2008, THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ LEFT SKWENTNA FOR A CABIN ON COW LAKE. WHILE ENROUTE, HIS ENGINE LOST POWER. HE CHECKED FOR FUEL ON BOTH TANKS, TURNED ON HIS BOOST PUMP AND PULLED HIS ALTERNATE AIR DOOR. SEEING THE GROUND COMING UP FAST, HE BROADCAST HIS LOCATION AND SITUATION ON 122.9 IN THE BLIND. THE ONLY AVAILABLE LANDING AREA WAS A SWAMP. HE MADE A SUCCESSFUL LANDING WITH MINOR DAMAGE TO THE LEADING EDGE OF BOTH WINGS. THE AIRCRAFT WAS HELICOPTERED OUT TO BIRCHWOOD AIRSTRIP. NO INJURIES AND ONLY THE PILOT WAS ON BOARD. IT WAS SNOWING AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
