## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THIS OFFICE WAS NOTIFIED BY THE NEW ENGLAND AREA OPERATIONS CENTER THAT: "MESA AIRLINES 2670, CRJ, AT 2204 EST, 2/20/08 REPORTED LOSS OF #1 ENGINE POWER 4 MILES SOUTHEAST OF PORTLAND, ME. AIRCRAFT LANDED RUNWAY SAFELY AT 2207 EST." THIS INSPECTOR SPOKE WITH LOCAL CONTRACT AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL AND MESA AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL WHERE IT WAS DISCLOSED THAT THE MASTER VG ACTUATOR (PN 4128T48G05) AND THE SLAVE VG ACTUATOR (PN 4128T48G05) HAD BOTH FRACTURED/FAILED IN FLIGHT. MESA AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE HAS REPLACED BOTH MASTER AND SLAVE ACTUATOR. MESA PMI HAS BEEN NOTIFIED OF THIS INCIDENT AS WELL AS AIRCRAFT EVALUATION GROUP, ENGINE CERTIFICATION OFFICE AND AAI-200. INVESTIGATION CONSIDERED CLOSED AT THIS OFFICE AS THESE ENTITIES HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
