## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON MARCH 2, 2008, AT APPROXIMATELY 11:36 LOCAL TIME, A CESSNA 172SP OPERATED BY AERO SAFETY TRAINING LTD, OVERRAN RUNWAY 01 AT N07 AND WAS DESTROYED. THE AIRCRAFT WENT THROUGH A SINGLE CHAIN FENCE, STRUCK A METAL GUARD RAIL AND CAME TO REST INVERTED ON JACKSONVILLE AVENUE IN LINCOLN PARK, NEW JERSEY. TWO PEOPLE WERE ONBOARD (FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR AND STUDENT) AND ONLY ONE SUFFERED MINOR INJURIES. FROM INTERVIEWS WITH THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR, THE AIRCRAFT LANDED LONG AND FAST. A GO-AROUND WAS INITIATED BUT THE AIRCRAFT OVERRAN THE RUNWAY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB NYC08CA118](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/NYC08CA118), Mar 2, 2008: Cessna 172SP (N107MA), Lincoln Park, NJ, substantial damage. Probable cause: The certificated flight instructor's delayed decision to go-around.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
