## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED UYF (MADISON COUNTY AIRPORT; LONDON, OH) FOR LPR (LORAIN COUNTY REGIONAL AIRPORT; ELYRIA, OH). THE WEATHER AT LPR WAS A REPORTED VISIBILITY OF LESS THAN 1/4 S.M. TO 1/4 S.M. THE REQUIRED VISIBILITY TO LEGALLY EXECUTE THE APPROACH WAS 1/2 S.M. THE REQUIRED VISIBILITY TO MAKE THE LANDING WAS 1/2 S.M. THE PIC STATED HE TOUCHED DOWN MORE THAN HALFWAY DOWN THE RUNWAY AND COULD NOT STOP ON THE RUNWAY SURFACE. THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED IN THE MUD AND BOTH PROPS WERE DAMAGED UPON CONTACT WITH THE GROUND. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ STATED IT WAS A "BAD DECISION" TO NOT MAKE A GO AROUND. THE PIC'S FLIGHT REVIEW WAS EXPIRED, HE DID NOT KEEP ACCURATE RECORDS TO VALIDATE HIS INSTRUMENT CURRENCY, AND NO ALTERNATE AIRPORT WAS FILED IN THE FLIGHT PLAN.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
