## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT WAS TRAVELING IN A WESTERLY HEADING (270-290 DEGREES). AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE GROUND AT A HIGH SPEED AND HIGH ANGLE. THE FUSELAGE PARTS HAD OIL ON MOST SURFACES. ACCORDING TO WITNESSES, THE AIRCRAFT PERFORMED A LOOP MANEUVER OR A LATERAL ROLL JUST BEFORE GOING NOSE DOWN AND IMPACTING THE RUNWAY. BLOCK 31, PILOT'S LAST FLIGHT REVIEW WAS 3/13/2000.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX08LA078](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX08LA078), Mar 18, 2008: Jenkins RV-7A (N742MJ), Winslow, AZ, substantial damage, 1 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain an adequate airspeed that resulted in a stall/spin.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
