## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE FOLLOWING IS A WRITTEN STATEMENT RECEIVED FROM THE PILOT: "THE SITUATION WAS A RESULT OF MY NOT GETTING THE PIN ON THE CRANK OF THE LANDING GEAR RETRACT SYSTEM INSERTED IN THE HOLE. WHEN THE NOSE GEAR TOUCHED DOWN IT BOUNCED AND ON THE SECOND BOUNCE THE GEAR CRANK UNWOUND ALLOWING THE GEAR TO RETRACT. THE EZE SLID ON THE NOSE 30 TO 40 YARDS GRINDING OFF SOME FOAM AND FIBERGLASS. THE COST TO REPAIR WILL BE $42 FOR A NEW GEAR LEG AND NO MORE THAN $15 FOR FOAM, GLASS AND PAINT."

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
