## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ DEPARTED MEADOW LAKE AIRPORT. THEN MINUTES INTO THE FLIGHT THE ENGINE QUIT. HE THEN SWITCHED FUEL TANK SELECTOR FROM THE RIGHT TANK TO THE LEFT TANK AND MOVED THE MIXTURE CONTROL TO FULL RICH. HE THEN TURNED BACK TOWARD THE DEPARTURE AIRPORT AND SHORTLY AFTER THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE GROUND AND FLIPPED UPSIDE DOWN. IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE LEFT FUEL TANK CONTAINED APPROXIMATELY 30 TO 40 GALLONS OF FUEL.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DFW08CA085](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DFW08CA085), Mar 21, 2008: Cessna 206 (N1386V), Peyton, CO, substantial damage. Probable cause: The loss of engine power due to fuel exhaustion as a result of the pilot's inadequate preflight planning.

## Other reports on N1386V (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19840824043359A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19840824043359A), Aug 24, 1984: Cessna U206F (N1386V), Satanta, KS, Substantial damage. Aircraft would not climb after takeoff, crash landed. Flap setting was set at 10 degrees but flaps were full down.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
