## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) UPON ATTEMPTED LANDING ON RUNWAY 4R, THE AIRCRAFT BOUNDED ON BOTH MAIN GEARS AND WENT AIRBORNE IN A NOSE UP ATTITUDE. THE RIGHT WING HIT THE RUNWAY CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT HAND WING TIP AND MAIN SPAR, APPROXIMATELY 2 FEET FROM THE WING TIP. THE AIRCRAFT ROLLED TO THE LEFT, CAUSING THE LEFT HAND MAIN LANDING GEAR TO SHEAR OFF UPON CONTACT WITH THE RUNWAY, AND STRUCK THE LEFT HAND STABILATOR LEADING EDGE. THE NOSE LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED, CAUSING THE THREE BLADED PROPELLER TIPS TO BEND UPON STRIKING THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT SKIDDED ON THE LEFT WING TIP, COLLAPSED NOSE LANDING GEAR AND THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR, COMING TO A STOP APPROXIMATELY 100 FEET SOUTH OF TAXIWAY F ON RUNWAY 4R. THERE ARE WRINKLES ON THE RIGHT HAND FUSELAGE SIDE SKIN, BELOW AND AFT OF THE ENGINE FIREWALL AND ON THE RIGHT HAND FUSELAGE SIDE SKIN, FORWARD OF THE STABILATOR.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX08CA084](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX08CA084), Mar 22, 2008: Piper PA32-301FT (N3105Q), Honolulu, HI, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate compensation for the wind conditions and his subsequent failure to maintain an adequate airspeed during landing. A contributing factor was the weather windshear condition.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
