As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON THE APPROACH TO CAK, THE AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED A BIRD STRIKE. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED SUCCESSFULLY, HOWEVER, IT HAD EXPERIENCED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE WING. THE PILOTS HAD THE WING CLEANED AND HAD DUCT TAPE APPLIED OVER THE DAMAGE, AND THEN FLEW THE AIRCRAFT BACK TO TDZ, WITHOUT OBTAINING AN AIRCRAFT FERRY PERMIT. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ STATED TO CLE FSDO AIS'S ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ THAT HE WAS ACTING AS THE PILOT FOR BOTH OF THESE FLIGHTS. BOTH FLIGHTS WERE CONDUCTED ON AN INSTRUMENT FLIGHT RULES FLIGHT PLAN, ALTHOUGH NEITHER ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ NOR ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ HOLD A MULTI-ENGINE INSTRUMENT RATING. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ DOES NOT HOLD AN INSTRUMENT RATING AT ALL, AND ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ HOLDS AN INSTRUMENT RATING LIMITED TO SINGLE ENGINE AIRCRAFT. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ PROVIDED INFORMATION FOR THIS REPORT. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WOULD NOT RETURN CALLS TO PROVIDE INFORMATION.

## NTSB investigation

None matched to this report by aircraft and date. Search the NTSB's own records: https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-main-public/basic-search

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
