## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 3/29/2008 AT APPROXIMATELY 1100 HOURS LOCAL TIME N3711Q CHINOOK PLUS 2 AN EXPERIMENTAL/AMATEUR HOMEBUILT AIRCRAFT ATTEMPTED TO TAKEOFF FROM THE RNH AIRPORT WHEN IT LOST POWER AT AN AGL OF 10' FT. THE AIRCRAFT SETTLED BACK DOWN HARD ONTO THE RUNWAY CAUSING TWO OF THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR SUPPORT TUBES TO BREAK DISABLING THE AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT WAS NO INJURED AND THERE WAS NO OTHER DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT WAS IMMEDIATELY REMOVED FROM THE RUNWAY. THERE WAS ALSO 14KT QUARTERING CROSSWIND PRESENT AT THIS TIME. PILOT WAS COUNSELED ABOUT PERFORMING A MORE THROUGH GROUND CHECK OF THE AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS AND PERFORMANCE AFTER ANY MAINTENANCE HAS BEEN PERFORMED ON THE AIRCRAFT. MSP FSDO ONLY LEARNED ABOUT THIS NONREPORTABLE EVENT AFTER A CONCERNED CITIZEN INQUIRED ABOUT THE INCIDENT UPON A VISIT TO THE FSDO OFFICE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
