## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING SEAPLANE FLIGHT INSTRUCTION, THE LEFT FLOAT STRUCK AN OBJECT IN THE WATER IMMEDIATELY AFTER A NORMAL LANDING. THE BOTTOM OF THE LEFT FLOAT WAS PUNCTURED AND THE FLOAT BEGAN TO TAKE ON WATER. THE PILOT CALLED 911 FOR ASSISTANCE BECAUSE PUMPING THE WATER OUT OF THE FLOAT WAS NOT PREVENTING THE LEFT FLOAT FROM SINKING AND THE AIRPLANE ROLLING TO THE LEFT. KING COUNTY SHERIFF BOATS CAME TO ASSIST. THE AIRCRAFT WAS RAISED BEFORE IT WENT UNDER THE SURFACE. SUPPORTED BY THE BOATS AND FLOTATION DEVICES IT WAS TOWED BACK TO THE SEAPLANE BASE. NO PERSONAL INJURIES.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
