## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE AIRCRAFT WAS ON ITS SECOND ATTEMPT TO LAND ON RUNWAY 29 AT BAY BRIDGE AIRPORT (W29) IN STEVENSVILLE, MD. A WITNESS SAID THE AIRCRAFT WAS HIGH AND FAST, SIMILAR TO THE FIRST APPROACH. HOWEVER WHEN THE AIRCRAFT WAS APPROX. HALF WAY DOWN THE RUNWAY HE WAS SEEN TO PITCH THE NOSE DOWN AND FORCE THE AIRCRAFT ONTO THE RUNWAY. SKID MARKS WERE OBSERVED ON THE PAVEMENT AND GRASS OVER RUN INDICATING AGGRESSIVE BRAKING ACTION. THE AICRAFT FINALLY STOPPED WHEN IT HIT THE STEEL SHEET PILING THAT MADE UP THE SEA WALL FOR THE END OF RUNWAY THAT PROJECTS INTO THE CHESAPEAKE BAY. THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE FROM THE FIREWALL FORWARD. PROP SIGNATURE AND MARKS ON THE SHEET PILING INDICATE THE ENGINE WAS DEVELOPING POWER, FLIGHT CONTROL CONTINUITY WAS NORMAL. THE FIREWALL WAS DISTORTED AND THE WINSHIELD WAS BROKEN.

## NTSB investigation

None matched to this report by aircraft and date. Search the NTSB's own records: https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-main-public/basic-search

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
