## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) CFI/PIC STATED THAT WINDS WERE 190 @ 18 KTS AT KIRS. ON FINAL APPROACH FOR RWY 18 AT 90 KTS IAS WITH AIRCRAFT SLOWING. ON SHORT FINAL AIRCRAFT WAS AT ABOUT 88 KTS IAS. STUDENT PULLED POWER OFF OVER THE THRESHOLD. HARD LANDING FOLLOWED. AIRCRAFT PORPOISED AS A RESULT AND GO-AROUND WAS INITIATED. ON CLIMBOUT STUDENT DID NOT HAVE RIGHT RUDDER IN. STUDENT ADDED RIGHT AILERON AND PUT AIRCRAFT INTO 20 DEGREE BANK. INSTRUCTOR CORRECTED FOR ATTITUDE, BUT DID NOT HAVE TIME TO DO MUCH OTHER THAN MAINTAIN SAFE ATTITUDE TO LAND.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
