## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON APRIL 12, 2008, THE PILOT AND TWO OCCUPANTS OF N9008G, A CESSNA 182N, DEPARTED SUNRAY AIRPORT (X43) TO TRADEWIND AIRPORT (TDW). THE AIRCRAFT WAS VFR INBOUND TO TDW, LANDING ON RUNWAY 35 AT APPROXIMATELY 1545 CDT. WINDS WERE REPORTED 340 DEGREES 16 GUST 26 KNOTS AT KAMA. THE PILOT STATED WINDS WERE 290 VARIABLE 340 WITH GUSTS 18-22 KNOTS. THE PILOT HAD CROSSWIND CONTROLS IN WITH THE LEFT WING DOWN, 10 PERCENT FLAPS, AND AN APPROACH SPEED OF 90 KNOTS. THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN APPROXIMATELY HALF WAY DOWN THE RUNWAY. AS THE AIRCRAFT SLOWED, THE RUDDER BECAME LESS EFFECTIVE AND CROSSWINDS PUSHED THE AIRCRAFT TO THE RIGHT, CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO DEPART THE RUNWAY. THE NOSE LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED AND THE RIGHT WING STRUCK THE GROUND. THE AIRCRAFT TURNED 110 DEGREES TO THE RIGHT, THE LEFT WING STRUCK THE GROUND, AND THE LEFT MAIN GEAR COLLAPSED UNDER THE AIRCRAFT. THERE WERE PROPELLER STRIKES IN THE GROUND INDICATING ENGINE ROTATION. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SERIOUS DAMAGE TO THE NOSE LANDING GEAR, LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR, LEFT WING TIP, PROPELLER, AND RIGHT WING. NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED BY THE PILOT OR PASSENGERS.
