## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) INSTRUCTOR STATED THAT HIS STUDENT WAS EXECUTING AN APPROACH TO RUNWAY 12 AT LA PORTE TX (T41). THE STUDENT BOUNCED THE LANDING AND WHEN THE INSTRUCTOR ADVISED HIM TO ADD A LITTLE POWER THE STUDENT APPLIED FULL POWER WITH NO RIGHT RUDDER INPUT. THE AIRCRAFT VEERED LEFT OFF THE RUNWAY AND THE INSTRUCTOR TOOK THE CONTROLS. THE AIRPLANE WAS HEADING FOR A WIND SOCK AND THE INSTRUCTOR BANKED LEFT. THE LEFT WING CONTACTED THE GROUND AND THE AIRCRAFT CARTWHEELED. AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO INCLUDE DEFORMED CONTROL SURFACES, BROKEN WING SPARS AND WRINKLED FIREWALL.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)
