## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON APRIL 19, 2008, DURING A TRAINING FLIGHT FLOWN BY ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ AND CIRRUS FACTORY INSTRUCTOR. N5419W WAS ON CLIMB OUT FROM FOX AIRFIELD, LANCASTER, CA. UPON REACHING AN ALTITUDE OF 8000 FEET AND DURING THE LEAN FOR CRUISE PROCEDURE THE ENGINE STARTED RUNNING ROUGH. (SHAKING AND BACK FIRING). THE FACTORY INSTRUCTOR ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ STATED THAT HE DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND MADE AN UNEVENTFUL REDUCED POWER LANDING AT AIR FORCE BASE PLANT 42.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
