## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON APRIL 24, 2008, AT 1055 LOCAL TIME, THE FLIGHT CREW FOR ATLAS WORLD INC. DURING THE EMERGENCY THE FLIGHT ENGINEER WAS SENT INTO THE CARGO BAY OF THE AIRCRAFT TO INSPECT FOR SIGNS OF SMOKE AND FIRE; AFTER INSPECTING, THE FLIGHT ENGINEER REPORTED NO SIGN SMOKE OR FIRE DETECTED. THE FLIGHT CREW WAS THEN TOLD BY COMPANY PERSONNEL TO DIVERT TO THE WICHITA, KANSAS, MID-CONTINENT AIRPORT (KICT) WHERE THE AIRCRAFT LANDED SAFELY AT 1105 LOCAL TIME, AND WAS MET BY AIRPORT SAFETY ALONG WITH FIRE AND RESCUE VEHICLES FOR LANDING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
