## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23)04/26/2008, CFI ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS INSTRUCTING STUDENT PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, PRACTICING TAKEOFFS AND LANDINGS AT TETLIN, AK. ON THE 7TH OR 8TH LANDING THE AIRCRAFT HIT MAINS FIRST, BOUNCED, THEN HIT TAIL FIRST AND SWERVED LEFT. CFI TOOK CONTROL AND ATTEMPTED TO CORRECT AIRCRAFT HEADING. RIGHT RUDDER DID NOT CORRECT AIRCRAFT HEQADING. AIRCRAFT CONTINUED LEFT TOWARDS EDGE OF RUNWAY. NOTE RUNWAY IS RAISED 10 TO 15 FEET ABOVE GROUND. CFI STATED THAT REDUCING POWER WOULD HAVE LEAD TO A ROLL OVER AS AIRCRAFT WENT OFF EDGE OF RUNWAY. CFI APPLIED FULL POWER. THE AIRCRAFT WENT OFF RUNWAY AND SETTLED INTO ROUGH TERRAIN DOWN OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY WITH SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO WINGS, FUSELAGE, PROPELLER, AND ENGINE. CFI STATED THAT AIRCRAFT WOULD NOT RESPOND TO RIGHT RUDDER CONTROLS INPUTS AND THINKS SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THE RUDDER SYSTEM OR TAIL WHEEL.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
