## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) WHEN ATTEMPTING HIS FIRST WATER LANDING THE PILOT STATED THAT ON TOUCH DOWN THE AIRCRAFT DECELERATED RAPIDLY AND THE LEFT WING SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE FROM STRIKING THE WATER. HE WAS EJECTED FROM THE AIRCRAFT AND SUSTAINED A MINOR CUT TO THE HEAD. (APPARENTLY WAS NOT WEARING SEATBELT OR SHOULDER HARNESS). AIRCRAFT CIRCLED SLOWLY ON ITS OWN UNTIL IT STRUCK THE SHORE. MINOR DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT WING OCCURED WHEN TREE WAS STRUCK.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
