## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 7/15/2008 IND FSDO RECEIVED A CALL FROM A FARMER WEST OF PLAINFIELD INDIANA REGARDING AN AIRCRAFT PART THAT HE FOUND IN HIS FARM, WHILE WORKING HIS FIELDS. PART LATER IDENTIFIED AS A WINGLET OF MD-11F BELONGING TO FEDEX AIRCRAFT N592FE. IDENTIFICATION TAG IS STILL ATTACHED TO THE PART SHOWING THE PART AND SERIAL NUMBER. PART NO. ARB 7770-403; SERIAL NO. 48550. WINGLET WAS GIVEN BACK TO FED EX ON 07/23/2008.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
