## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON MAY 11, 2008, THE PILOT OF TRINIDAD N41PW ATTEMPTED TO LOWER THE LANDING GEAR FOR LANDING AT LANCASTER AIRPORT. THE PILOT NOTICED THAT THE INDICATING SYSTEM REVEALED THAT THE NOSE GEAR DID NOT LOCK IN THE DOWN POSITION. AFTER COMMUNICATING WITH ATC AND EXECUTING THE EMERGENCY AND ALTERNATE GEAR EXTENTION PROCEDURES PROPERLY, THE AIRCRAFT WAS CLEARED TO LAND WITH EMERGENCY PERSONNEL ALERTED. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED ON THE MAIN WHEELS, AND SETTLED TO THE RUNWAY, WITHOUT BENEFIT OF THE NOSE GEAR BEING FULLY EXTENDED AND LOCKED. A DEFECTIVE LANDING GEAR POWER PACK WAS DETERMINED TO BE THE CAUSE OF THE INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
