## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE OWNER OF A PIPER PA-30 TWIN COMANCHE WAS LANDING ON RUNWAY 17R AT ELLINGTON FIELD, HOUSTON TEXAS, WITH HIS CFI ONBOARD. UPON TOUCHDOWN AND ROLL-OUT TO TAXIWAY BRAVO THE AIRCRAFT STARTED TO VEER TO THE LEFT. BOTH PILOTS APPLIED FULL RIGHT RUDDER WITH NO RESPONSE. PILOT APPLIED POWER TO THE LEFT ENGINE, THE AIRCRAFT TURNED INTO THE WIND AND LIFTED BACK INTO THE AIR. THE LEFT WING CONTACTED THE GROUND AND THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE GROUND AT A 45 DEGREE ANGLE TO THE LEFT OF RUNWAY 17R. THE NOSE AND MAIN GEAR WERE SHEARED OFF FROM THE IMPACT. PROPELLER STRIKES WERE FOUND ON THE RUNWAY AND IN THE GROUND. WINDS WERE OUT OF THE ESE, AT 7-8 MPH.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
