(-23) ACCORDING TO THE PIC (INSTRUCTOR); "DURING A SIMULATED SHORT FIELD TAKEOFF, INITIATED FROM A STOP AND GO LANDING WITH APPROXIMATELY 2000 FEET OF RUNWAY AVAILABLE FOR TAKEOFF, AND CLIMB OUT FROM RUNWAY 19 AT KCOE, AT APPROXIMATELY 100 FEET AGL, THE LEFT ENGINE LOST POWER FOLLOWED IMMEDIATELY BY THE RIGHT ENGINE LOSING POWER. THE STUDENT PILOT WAS THE FLYING PILOT AT THE TIME; HOWEVER THE PIC PUSHED THE NOSE DOWN TO GAIN AIRSPEED." THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE GROUND INSIDE OF AN ELECTRIC COMPANY MAINTENANCE YARD. THE AIRCRAFT LEFT WING IMPACTED A STATIONARY SNOW CAT, THE RIGHT WING IMPACTED A WOOD SHED AND THEN THE CONCRETE WALL OF THE ELECTRIC COMPANY, THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED A PICKUP TRUCK. THE GEAR WAS DOWN, AND SELECTED AS SUCH, DURING THE INITIAL IMPACT AND COLLAPSED DURING THE MOMENTUM OF THE IMPACT. FUEL WAS LEAKING FROM THE RUPTURED WINGS, NO FIRE ENSUED. THE PIC AND STUDENT PILOT EXITED THE AIRCRAFT UNDER THEIR OWN POWER. THE PIC REPORTED THAT THEY HAD FLOWN APPROXIMATELY THREE (3) HOURS SINCE REFUELING THE AIRCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA08LA134](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA08LA134), May 13, 2008: Hawker Beechcraft E-55 (N5885C), Coeur d'Alene, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: Loss of engine power for undetermined reasons.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
