## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT/CFI AND STUDENT WERE PRACTICING POWER-RECOVERY AUTOROTATIONS ONTO A TAXIWAY AT CHD. DURING ONE OF THE POWER-RECOVERY ATTEMPTS, THE MAIN ROTOR RPM DID NOT MAINTAIN NORMAL POWER RECOVERY CHARACTERISTICS AND DECAYED ABNORMALLY. THE PILOT/CFI FLARED THE VEHICLE AND CONTINUED THE AUTOROTATION TO TOUCHDOWN. THE ONLY DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE WAS MINOR TO THE 2 TAIL ROTOR BLADE TIPS. THE MAIN ROTOR BLADES AND AIRFRAME RECEIVED NO DAMAGE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE OCCUPANTS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
