## Narrative

(-23) IT WAS REPORTED THAT ON MAY 16, 2008, AT APPROXIMATELY 10:40 PDT, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ DEPARTED KGOO FOR CA15 IN N7042F. SHORTLY AFTER TAKEOFF, THE ENGINE BEGAN TO RUN ROUGH AND LOST POWER. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ SAID HE REALIZED HE WAS NOT GOING TO MAKE IT BACK TO THE AIRPORT SO HE DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND COMPLETED A FORCED LANDING ON HIGHWAY 49 NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF DORSEY DRIVE. THE ENGINE WAS SUBSEQUENTLY RESTARTED BUT AGAIN LOST POWER AFTER RUNNING ONLY A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME. AN EXAMINATION OF THE ENGINE IS SCHEDULED AND THIS REPORT WILL BE AMENDED AS MORE INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
