## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS THE ONLY WITNESS TO THE ACCIDENT. ACCORDING TO ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, WOH WAS NEAR THE GRASS RUNWAY, HEARD THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ ADD TAKEOFF POWER. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ SAID HE TURNED AWAY, HEARD A REDUCTION IN POWER FOR A FEW SECONDS, WHICH IS NORMAL OPERATING PROCEDURE AND THEN A REAPPLICATION OF POWER. AFTER POWER WAS ADDED HE HEARD A LOUD THUD AND TURNED TO LOOK BACK TOWARD THE RUNWAY, HE SAW THE POWERED PARACHUTE LYING ON ITS SIDE WITH THE PILOT STILL STRAPPED TO THE AIRFRAME. ## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI08CA149](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI08CA149), May 27, 2008: Mischanko Buckeye Breeze (N623EM), Walkerton, IN, minor damage. Probable cause: The directional control of the parachute not obtained/maintained by the pilot during the takeoff roll. A contributing factor was separation of the nose landing gear.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
