## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE FOLLOWING NARRATIVE INFORMATION IS PROVIDED BY THE CARRIER'S PERSONNEL: MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL PREVIOUSLY INSTALLED A 4 BLADED PROPELLER PER SUPPLEMENTAL TYPE CERTIFICATE SA00058T. THE MAINTENACNE CHECK FLIGHT REQUIRED THE PILOT TO SHUT DOWN EACH ENGINE INDIVIDUALLY. APPROXIMATELY 5-10 SECONDS AFTER SHUTTING DOWN THE LEFT ENGINE, SMOKE APPEARED FROM BENEATH THE SWITCH PANEL LEFT OF THE PILOT'S SEAT. PARTIAL ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILURES THAT INCLUDED LANDING GEAR AND FLAPS EXTENSION BEING INOP WAS EXPEERIENCED BY THE PILOT. EMERGENCY LANDING GEAR EXTENSION PROCEDURES WERE FOLLOWED AND AN EMERGENCY WAS DECLARED BY THE PILOT TO THE TED STEVENS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TOWER. PILOT ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE LT ENGINE WITHOUT SUCCESS. A SUCCESFUL SINGLE ENGINE, NO-FLAP LANDING WAS ACCOMPLISHED. MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL LATER FOUND THAT THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR STC SA00058AT WERE NOT FOLLOWED CORRECTLY. THIS RESULTED IN AN OVERLOADED ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT THAT CAUSED SMOKE IN THE COCKPIT WITH PARTIAL ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILURE.

Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
