## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON MAY 29, 2008, A STUDENT PILOT DOING TAKEOFFS AND LANDINGS, SUPERVISED BY A CFI (SEE SECOND PILOT INFO) ON THE GROUND WITH A HAND-HELD RADIO, PORPOISED THE AIRCRAFT AND LOST DIRECTIONAL CONTROL CAUSING A HARD LANDING, DAMAGING THE PROP AND NOSE GEAR. THERE WERE NO INJURIES OR POST FIRE. THERE WAS SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE FIREWALL AND NOSE GEAR. THE STUDENT CUT IN FRONT OF A CESSNA 172 THAT WAS ON FINAL, WITH A CFI ONBOARD, AND PROCEEDED TO LAND WHEN HE HAD THIS ACCIDENT. THE CESSNA 172 WAS APPROX. 1/2 MILE NORTH OF THE AIRPORT AND HAD TO GO RIGHT OF THE RUNWAY TO AVOID THE STUDENT PILOTS AIRCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
