## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL THE AIRCRAFT (WEIGHT SHIFT CONTROL LIGHT SPORT AIRCRAFT) DURING THE ATTEMPTED LANDING ON RUNWAY 16 AT VINLAND VALLEY AERODROME (K64). THE WING WAS ESTIMATED TO BE FROM 190 DEGREES AT 4 KNOTS AND THE VISIBILITY WAS 10 MILES DURING DAYLGHT HOURS. THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR ATTEMPTED TO TAKE OVER THE FLIGHT CONTROLS, BUT THE PILOT DID NOT RELINQUISH CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT IMMEDIATELY. FOLLOWING A STRUGGLE FOR CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT BETWEEN THE PILOT AND THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR THE INSTRUCTOR ATTEMPTED TO FLY THE AIRCRAFT UNDERNEATH A SET OF POWER LINES AND IMAPCTED A MAILBOX AND A HANGAR. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE AND BOTH OCCUPANTS OF THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES.
