## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AFTER AMERICAN EAGLE FLIGHT # 4214 LANDED ON RUNWAY 5L AT INDIANAPOLIS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT AND CLEARED THE RUNWAY ONTO TAXIWAY BRAVO 2, THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT LEFT THE PAVEMENT INTO THE GRASS AFTER CROSSING THE PERPENDICULAR TAXIWAY BRAVO. THE CAPTAIN WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE AIRCRAFT BEFORE DEPARTING THE PAVEMENT. THE APU WAS STARTED AND BOTH ENGINES WERE SHUT DOWN, SOON AFTER PASSENGERS WERE BUSED TO THE TERMINAL. AFTERWARDS MAINTENANCE PERFORMED OPERATIONAL TEST TO VERIFY THE BRAKE SYSTEM AND NOSE WHEEL STEERING WERE FOUND TO BE IN LIMITS. NO AIRCRAFT DAMAGE OR INJURIES WERE REPORTED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
