## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON JUNE 3, 2008 AT ABOUT 1950 EST, PILOT TOOK OFF FROM GA80 (WHISPERING PINES AIRPORT) IN CONYERS GA WITH ONE PASSENGER FOR A LOCAL SIGHTSEEING FLIGHT. ABOUT 2 MINUTES INTO THE FLIGHT, ABOUT 1 NM NORTHEAST OF GA80 AT ABOUT 2000' MSL, ENGINE RAN ROUGH, WITH INSUFFICIENT RPM TO MAINTAIN ALTITUDE. PILOT ADVISED HE RAN THE EMERGENCY CHECKLIST AND ELECTED TO LAND IN A FIELD. HE ADVISED HE SHUTDOWN THE ENGINE PRIOR TO TOUCHDOWN TO MINIMIZE DAMAGE. AIRCRAFT STRUCK A BARBED-WIRE FENCE ON ROLL-OUT CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE TO PROPELLER, COWLING, LANDING GEAR STRUTS, AND LEFT HORIZONTAL STABILIZER. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO EITHER THE PILOT OR TO THE PASSENGER, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, HIS WIFE. WEATHER CONDITIONS WERE VMC AND NOT A FACTOR. NO FLIGHT PLAN WAS FILED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
