## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ HAD NO CLUB AFFILIATIONS AND THIS WAS HER FIRST JUMP. PARACHUTE USED WAS AS FOLLOWS; CONTAINER: SUN PATH STUDENT JAVELIN, MAIN PARACHUTE: PERFORMANCE DESIGNS NAVIGATOR NA220-002332, RESERVE CHUTE: PERFORMANCE DESIGN 160R#4021 REPACKED AT TEXAS REPAIR ON 06/03/2008 (NOT DEPLOYED). INSTRUCTOR: ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, JUMP MASTER; ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^. DESCRIPTION: JUMPER HAD A NORMAL EXIT AT 4500' MSL, AND WAS OBSERVED TO BE FOLLOWING RADIO INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE FIRST MINUTES OF CANOPY FLIGHT. AT ABOUT THE HALFWAY POINT DURING THE DESCENT JUMPER STOPPED RESPONDING TO RADIO INSTRUCTION AND NO FURTHER STEERING INPUT WAS OBSERVED. JUMPER DRIFTED WITH THE WIND, PAST THE LANDING AREA, TO A FIELD ACROSS THE ROAD. AS SHE APPROACHED THE GROUND THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE CANOPY CLIPPED A TREE BRANCH WHICH SENT HER CANOPY INTO A TURN AND A HARD LANDING. STAFF FROM THE SKYDIVING CENTER CALLED 911 AND SENT PERSONNEL TO THE SCENE IMMEDIATELY TO RENDER ASSISTANCE. EMERGENCY CREWS ARRIVED AND THE PATIENT WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
