## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ACCORDING TO THE CFI, WHO WAS THE PRINCIPAL WITNESS, DURING THE PILOT'S SOLO FLIGHT, JUST BEFORE TOUCH DOWN AT LANDING, THE PILOT THROTTLED UP THE TWO STROKE ENGINE WHICH CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO TORQUE OVER THE LEFT. THE PILOT WAS UNABLE TO COMPENSATE RAPIDLY ENOUGH FOR THE LEFT TURN AND THE LEFT WINGTIP STRUCK THE GROUND AND FLIPPED THE AIRCRAFT ONTO ITS NOSE AND THEN COMING TO REST ON ITS RIGHT SIDE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX08LA181](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX08LA181), Jun 14, 2008: Airborne Edge (N9393S), Dunn, NC, substantial damage, 1 fatal. Probable cause: The student pilot's failure to maintain control of the airplane during a go-around.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
