## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT WAS TAKING OFF ON RUNWAY 3 AT BETHANY MEMORIAL AIRPORT (75K), BETHANY, MO, WITH A LOAD OF FERTILIZER TO BE USED FOR AERIAL APPLICATION. DURING THE TAKEOFF ROLL, THE AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF ENGINE POWER AS IT APPROACHED THE DEPARTURE END OF THE RUNWAY. AFTER BECOMING AIRBORNE, THE AIRCRAFT WAS UNABLE TO CLIMB. THE PILOT BANKED THE AIRCRAFT STEEPLY TO THE RIGHT IN AN EFFORT TO MANEUVER BETWEEN A HOUSE AND A DETACHED GARAGE APPROXIMATELY 1/4 MILE NORTH EAST AND ON THE EXTENDED CENTERLINE OF THE DEPARTURE END OF RUNWAY 3. THE RIGHT WINGTIP OF THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK THE LOWER CORNER OF THE HOUSE WHILE THE LEFT WINGTIP AND SPRAY BOOM STRUCK THE UPPER PORTION OF THE GARAGE. THE PILOT STATED THAT THE ENGINE REGAINED SOME POWER AT THIS POINT, AS THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED TO ROLL INVERTED AND CRASHED IN A FIELD APPROXIMATELY 50 YARDS NORTH EAST OF THE HOUSE AND GARAGE.
