## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 6/30/2008, STUDENT PILOT WAS RETURNING FROM THE PRACTICE AREA ON HIS SECOND SUPERVISED SOLO FLIGHT. ACCORDING TO BOTH STUDENT AND OBSERVING INSTRUCTOR, STUDENT MADE A STABLE APPROACH TO RUNWAY 25L TO DAB, BUT MISJUDGED HIS FLARE TO LAND. AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN HARD ON MAIN LANDING GEAR AND BOUNCED/ROSE TO A HEIGHT OF APPROXIMATELY 10 FEET. AT THIS POINT, THE STUDENT ALLOWED THE AIRCRAFTS NOSE TO DROP, CONTACTING THE RUNWAY HEARD ENOUGH TO FOLD THE NOSE GEAR BACKWARDS. THE AIRCRAFT SLID SEVERAL HUNDRED YARDS DOWN THE RUNWAY, COMING TO A STOP ON THE LOWER COWLING AND RIGHT WING TIP. DAMAGE WAS SUSTAINED BY NOSE GEAR/ENGINE MOUNT, PROPELLER AND RIGHT WING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
