## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AT THE BEGINNING OF THE FIRST SPRAY PASS ON A FIELD (MELONS) THE PILOT NOTICED A ELECTRICAL POWER LINE GOING FROM A HIGH VOLTAGE FEED LINE TO A IRRIGATION WELL PUMP THAT BORDERED THE APPROACH END OF THE FIELD. THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO PULL UP OVER THE LINE BUT CONTACTED A WOOD POWER POLE WITH THE AIRCRAFT (ENGINE). DAMAGE TO THE ENGNE AND PROPELLER PRECLUDED THE POSSIBLITY OF THE AIRCRAFT BEING ABLE TO MAINTAIN FLIGHT. THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK THE GROUND WITH THE LEFT WING TIP IN THE FIELD, TURNED APPROXIMATELY 180 DEGREES IN DIRECTION AND CAME TO REST RIGHT SIDE UP. THE FUSELAGE OF THE AIRCRAFT BURNED TO A POINT JUST BEHIND THE COCKPIT. SECTION 21A IS BLANK DUE NO TECHNICAL FACTORS FOR THIS ACCIDENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX08CA223](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX08CA223), Jul 10, 2008: Grumman Acft Eng G-164B (N6792Q), Patterson, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain clearance from obstacles while maneuvering.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
