## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 07/10/2008, DELTA AIRLINES FLIGHT 772 ENCOUNTERED COMPRESSOR STALLS ON THE #1 ENGINE WHILE CRUISING AT FL 390. THE BOEING 757 ENROUTE FROM DFW TO ATL DEVERTED INTO BHM WHERE IT LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT AT APPROXIMATELY 21:19 CDT. THERE WAS NO EVACUATION ORDERED AND THE PASSENGERS WERE TRANSPORTED TO ATL VIA OTHER MEANS. A MAINTENANCE CREW FROM DELTA AIRLINES DROVE TO BHM ON JULY 11 AND REPAIRED THE ENGINE. THE MAINTENANCE TEAM BORESCOPED THE 6 AND 16 STAGE HP COMPRESSORS AND TURBINE AND FOUND NOTHING ABNORMAL. THE AIRCRAFT FDC INDICATED AN EPCS FAULT SO THE STATOR VANE ACTUATOR AND THE FUEL CONTROL WERE REPLACED. ENGINE RUNS WERE COMPLETED AND THE AIRCRAFT WERE REPOSITIONED TO ATL ON THE AFTERNOON OF 07/11/08. THE PW2037 ENGINE, SERIAL NUMBER 716304 WAS INSTALLED 11/27/07 AND HAD ACCUMULATED 2289.0 HOURS AND 737 CYCLES. HISTORICAL INFORMATION PROVIDED BY ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, SHIFT MGR DELTA AIRLINES.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
