## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) WHILE PERFORMING DRY FERTILIZER AERIAL APPLICATION, APPROXIMATELY 11 MILES SOUTH OF ALTURAS, CA, THE ENGINE LOST POWER AND THE PILOT PERFORMED AN EMERGENCY LANDING IN A PASTURE. THE AIRCRAFT NOSED OVER ONTO ITS BACK. INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT FUEL SYSTEM REVEALED PARTIAL BLOCKAGE OF THE MAIN FUEL FILTER WITH WHAT APPEARS TO BE MICROBIAL MATTER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX08CA228](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX08CA228), Jul 13, 2008: Schweizer G-164B (N3633B), Alturas, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: A total loss of engine power due to fuel starvation, which resulted from a fuel system contamination and a clogged fuel filter. Contributing to the accident was the rough terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
